Hi! I’m Heather, and I’m so excited you’re here. This blog is a space where I share what I’ve learned as a special education teacher, a parent, and a creator navigating a life full of joy, challenges, and, of course, a little chaos. My hope is that whether you’re an educator, a parent, or someone who loves creativity and learning, you’ll find something here that inspires, informs, or just makes your day a little brighter.
Over the years, I’ve taught in Pre-K, Head Start, Early Head Start, and K–5 collaborative classrooms. These experiences have taught me that every student’s learning journey is unique. Some students need structure, others thrive with creativity, and many need a mix of both. Understanding these differences has guided me to create practical, accessible teaching resources that support inclusive classrooms. On this blog, I’ll share reflections from my classroom, practical teaching strategies, and tips for working with diverse learners. I’ll also highlight some of my favorite resources on Teachers Pay Teachers, so you can easily find tools that make a difference in your own classroom.
Outside of the classroom, life at home is full and lively. I’m a parent to two incredible kids and polyamorous, sharing my life with two wonderful partners. Our household also includes three cats and three dogs, so there’s always extra energy—and plenty of love! Living in such a dynamic environment gives me perspective on flexibility, creativity, and problem-solving, and these lessons often inspire the resources and content I create. My ADHD also shapes how I approach teaching, planning, and creating; it helps me think outside the box and design strategies that really meet students’ needs.
But this blog isn’t just about teaching. I’ll also share stories from my daily life, creative projects, and even a few parenting wins (and fails). Whether it’s photography, DIY projects, or reflections on balancing work, family, and personal growth, I hope these posts encourage you to find inspiration and joy in your own life. My goal is to make this space both useful and relatable—a place where you can come for ideas, tips, or just a little bit of connection.
I’m so glad you stopped by, and I hope you’ll stick around! Explore the blog, check out my favorite resources, and don’t hesitate to leave a comment or share your experiences. After all, life, learning, and teaching are always better when we navigate them together—even when things get a little chaotic.
